I had my television début on Washington Business Report this morning on WJLA ABC7. I was invited on by Rebecca Cooper because she stumbled upon the Abraham Harrison website and liked our humor and our business. So, here’s the video of the segment for you to check out:

Hi Chris,
awesome.
Great interview.
How can you get any more famous?
Jorgen
Thanks, Jorgen. I would like to think there’s a lot of room for growth. Though I am surely not even remotely pursuing fame, I surely would love more opportunity to reach more people with what I am doing online in social media.
Hi Chris,
as you might remember I’m in France where the usage of Social Media is as high as in any country. In France, 90% of people’s time spent in Social Media is spent on Facebook.
This might be different in the US but in France very few people REALLY understand what a successful Social Media strategy is.
If you ask a business owner in France if they have a Social Media strategy the answer is ‘yes’. If you ask them what it is their answer is ‘I’m on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter’. When you ask them how many ‘likes’ they have and how many ‘talking about this’ they have they say ‘not many’. So when I ask them if it’s working well the answer is ‘ermm….no’. Asked if they know why –> answer ‘no’!!!’. That’s the state of Social Media Marketing in France.
Businesses in France think that because they know how to do Social (have implemented the tools such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.) that they know how to be Social (publishing interesting and relevant information to get attention, engagement, interaction etc.). Now they need to learn how to be Social and that’s where we can play a huge part because it not an easy skill to acquire.
The opportunities here are enormous and any French company which implements a full Social Media Strategy will easily leapfrog any of their competitors.
Nice outlook for 2012 and beyond for me :)
Godspeed for 2012 to you and your team.
Could be interesting to know the state of Social Media Marketing in other countries.
Jorgen
Jorgen,
I love France and remember the Minitel. The French have always been avant garde, so to speak. And there have been quite a few good social media startups from france, including my favorite, eCairn. I would surely love to get on a call with you. We have never done an outreach in France but have done in Russia, Poland, Germany, and Portugal — as well as Latin America, including Brazil in Portuguese. And also India. So we get international, et j’adore Francais. Shall we?
